Before heading to the week-long Translation & Interpretation Course seminar in Shiga Prefecture in December 2013, I decided to design my own business cards for the first time. I had been wanting to play around with Adobe Creative Suite for a long time and this gave me the ideal opportunity to get creative. I went through a great many drafts to get to the end product, but my main focus was using my surname as my brand and reflecting the languages I speak.
This was my first real project using Adobe Illustrator and it was tough getting them printed with such a tight deadline. With more time to check the design I think I would have opted for slightly more professional looking flags, as the hand-written style was a reflection of early designs that I ended up moving away from.
